Using consistent keywords to label and identify records will make it easier to locate them later, regardless of the words used in the resume, notes, or other non-conforming content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Create Codes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To build a list of your own codes and keywords for Company, Name, or Position records:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the <strong>Settings <\/strong>icon on the Main Menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Database Setup<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the Keyword table. There are several keyword related tables:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Skill Codes<\/strong>: Use this option to set up a table of skills (i.e. Engineering, Marketing, Training, Sales, Technical Support, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Equipment Codes<\/strong>: Use this option to set up a table of equipment (i.e. Heavy Machinery, Manufacturing Machinery, Construction Machinery, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SIC Codes<\/strong>: Use this option to set up your industry niche SIC Codes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Education Codes<\/strong>: Use this option to set up a table of education codes (i.e. Bachelors, Masters, etc.). This table will not only be used for Keywords, but also the <strong>Degree Type<\/strong> field for Names and the <strong>Degree Required<\/strong> field for Positions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>User-Defined Codes<\/strong>: Use this option to define the table name in addition to the codes it contains.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Industry\/Specialty Codes<\/strong>: Use this option to set up a table of industries and related specialties. This table is also used for the <strong>Industry\/Specialty<\/strong> fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the top right corner of the codes area, choose <strong>Add<\/strong> or <strong>Import<\/strong> from the action menu, depending on whether you plan to add a single item or import a CSV.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill out the <strong>Code<\/strong> and <strong>Description<\/strong> for the Keyword. <em>(Category is a Legacy Feature, disregard this.)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong>. The Keyword will change color and the tag will appear at the top of the record.
