For example, notifying a user when someone applies to a position. PCR&nbsp;requires a valid outgoing email account to use for sending these sorts of emails. To set this up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click <strong>Settings<\/strong> in the Main Menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Email Setup<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Outgoing Mail Settings<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1757\" height=\"440\" src=\"https:\/\/learnsuite.pcrecruiter.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/12\/image-15.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/learnsuite.pcrecruiter.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/12\/image-15.png 1757w, https:\/\/learnsuite.pcrecruiter.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/12\/image-15-300x75.png 300w, https:\/\/learnsuite.pcrecruiter.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/12\/image-15-1024x256.png 1024w, https:\/\/learnsuite.pcrecruiter.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/12\/image-15-768x192.png 768w, https:\/\/learnsuite.pcrecruiter.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/12\/image-15-1536x385.png 1536w, https:\/\/learnsuite.pcrecruiter.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/12\/image-15-360x90.png 360w, https:\/\/learnsuite.pcrecruiter.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2024\/12\/image-15-1568x393.png 1568w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1757px) 100vw, 1757px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>If you are using a <strong>GOOGLE<\/strong> or <strong>MICROSOFT<\/strong> email server\/account:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the buttons provided to authenticate your account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the&nbsp;<strong>Test Connection<\/strong> button to verify that the account information is correct before saving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are <em>NOT<\/em> using Google or Microsoft, complete these items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>SMTP Server Name: Port:<\/strong> This box should be filled in with the SMTP server info from your email provider. If a specific port number is required, it can be placed after a colon at the end of the name. (ex:&nbsp;smtp.gmail.com:465 or&nbsp;smtp.office365.com:587). If your SMTP Server box contains <em>127.0.0.1<\/em>, this means that you are using the PCRecruiter hosting servers as an outgoing mail server. While this is functionally acceptable, it can negatively impact email delivery and is not recommended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SMTP Server User Name:<\/strong> The login for the email account you plan to use. In many cases, the email address is the user name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SMTP Server Password:<\/strong> The password that goes with the email account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>System Administrator Email:<\/strong> This is the email that will be used as the &#8220;from&#8221; address on automated emails. You may simply enter an email address alone, or enter the &#8216;from name&#8217; followed by the email address in &lt; angle brackets &gt;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please note that these items should be filled in with the username and password for a valid email account, not your PCRecruiter account login and password. If you are unsure of your email server or login details, contact your company&#8217;s email administrator.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the&nbsp;<strong>Test Connection<\/strong> button to verify that the account information is correct before saving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Optional settings on this screen which you will generally ignore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mail Type: This is generally left on &#8220;PCRMail&#8221;. If switched to &#8220;Default,&#8221; any email links clicked in the system will open a blank mail in the user&#8217;s default email account rather than using PCR&#8217;s own email sending screens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Free Email Site: This is a deprecated feature and should be left on the default &#8220;None&#8221; setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delay Between Emails: Some servers will reject emails sent to closely in succession. In these cases, a number can be entered into this box to force a delay between connections (3000 is recommended here).
